Amanda López Askin Releases First Ad

For Immediate Release

LAS CRUCES – Today Amanda López Askin released her new ad in the race for New Mexico Secretary of State: Pass the Torch. The ad highlights how under Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver New Mexico has become a “model for election security and accessibility.”  Now, with Maggie Toulouse Oliver’s support, Amanda López Askin is running to continue our progress.

“New Mexico runs the best elections in the country.” said Amanda López Askin. “I am proud to have endorsements from Senator Martin Heinrich, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, and Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver. I will work to ensure fair and safe elections for all New Mexicans.”

Today Amanda López Askin reported nearly $150,000 cash on hand. Her campaign funds will go toward reaching New Mexicans from Las Cruces to Raton with this ad. It’s important that New Mexicans know Amanda stood up to Donald Trump and ICE and how she will always fight for every eligible voice to be heard.

Amanda Lopez Askin was raised by a single mom in Las Cruces where she now serves as County Clerk. Her deep New Mexico roots and work to keep our elections fair in the borderlands means she understands how Donald Trump and ICE affect our communities – even U.S. citizens. That’s why Amanda supported the law signed by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham to keep ICE out of polling locations so that every voice can be heard.

Under Maggie Toulouse Oliver New Mexico has become a model for election security and accessibility.

Now, with her support, I am ready to continue that progress. As county clerk, I have stood up to Trump and election deniers to keep our elections safe and secure. And I have fought to keep ICE out of our polling locations so that every eligible voice can be heard. I am Amanda López Askin and I approve this message because I am ready to keep New Mexico elections safe, fair, and secure.
